These cabinets are NOT imported… they are not “stapled” together and painted in factories with dirt floors. Rather, each cabinet is handcrafted one-at-a-time at John Stass’s workshop in Lewiston, Maine USA. Before you buy a cabinet from another source, ask where the piece is crafted. Some "manufacturers" will give you the impression that their cabinets are American made, when in fact they are made in Asia or South America. Painting a cabinet from Asia does not make it American Made in our frame of reference. You may also ask if the cabinet is made from solid wood... Are the cherry cabinets crafted from cherry? ...or from a lesser wood that is stained cherry. (Here are 12 questions to guide you in selecting a sheet music cabinet.)
At Katahdin, the craftsman who has made your cabinet, from selecting the wood at the mill, to applying the hand-rubbed finish is right here in the shop. Ask to speak to him... James, Isaiah or John.
Simply stated… Katahdin Studio Furniture offers the widest selection of sheet music cabinets found anywhere. Sixteen models to choose from, and you are encouraged to inquire about custom cabinets. It is Katahdin’s mission to craft heirloom quality music room furniture to meet your exact needs.
